Notes of Love Fill the Candelaria Family’s Future Home at The Grow

The future home of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Alejandro Candelaria and his family is already filled with a lot of love. Recently, our Central Florida team joined trade partners and Building Homes for Heroes for a special Notes of Love event at The Grow in Orlando, where the Candelaria family’s mortgage-free Built to Honor® home is under construction.

Before drywall is installed, team members and partners filled the home’s framing with handwritten messages of gratitude, encouragement and support. The notes will soon be hidden behind the finished walls, becoming a permanent part of the home and a reminder of the community that came together to help build it.

Staff Sergeant Candelaria served more than eight years in the U.S. Army across two periods of service, completing four overseas deployments before being medically and honorably retired in 2024. Today, he is pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Central Florida and looks forward to building a new chapter at The Grow with his wife, Alexa, and their daughter.

Through PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program and in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes, the home is being built and donated mortgage-free in recognition of Alejandro’s service and sacrifice.
